Lakeside Holiday in South Lincolnshire
Tallington Lakes is on the border of Rutland, Cambridgeshire, and Lincolnshire - so easy to reach from most of the uk! Please note it is nowhere near Tattershall Lakes, and quite different.
The position of this self-catering holiday rental at the top of the biggest lake, with only arable fields at the back, guarantees a peaceful stay. You could stay in other lodges, some may even be cheaper, but you won’t get our view, our garden, and our hot tub! South facing over the lake, you'll enjoy a warm lodge on sunny days - even in winter.
A holiday here is a world away from everyday life, but only a short drive from dog friendly Stamford, a really pretty market town with a river, multiple churches, historic buildings and sun filled pedestrianised shopping areas packed with places to indulge the senses and satisfy the soul.
Definitely Dog Friendly

Looking for multiple dog friendly? Wondering how many you can bring and if dogs go free?
I have 4 dogs, and appreciate that all dogs are different. So I don’t ask about size or breed - you are the best person to know whether the lodge is suitable for your dogs.
8 Chihauhas have stayed, 4 Labradors , 6 Spinone (not at the same time!) - just ask to find out if we suit your needs.
We provide some bowls, spare leads, identity collars, towels, a warm outside shower - we even have crates if you want to borrow them! Dogs are allowed on the furniture in the living space, but we do ask that you bring your own throws and dog beds please. Dogs are allowed into the bedroom/bathrooms areas - bring your own human bedding if you let them, but if they don’t at home, and you don’t want them to here, they will be just fine as it’s an all one level lodge and they will know where you are.
The fields around are arable, and around crop sowing time in there may be loud bags from the farmer's bird scarer. At the time of writing, I have not heard this go off in 15 months.
Dogs are not allowed to swim in the lake, but I have provided maps of some lovely walks that I've done with my dogs, and many involve water.
Read on to find out about the outside space!

Reactive Dogs?
I have 4 dogs. One is reactive to traffic, one to other dogs, one to both! I know how tricky it can be to find somewhere that will limit the opportunities for dogs to react. The single lane track is not busy with traffic, and whilst there will be passers by with dogs, your car/s and a 5ft screened fence will reduce the likelihood. Besides, if your dogs are anything like mine, they will be sat enjoying the view over the lake with you!
The lodge has a double gate system at the front, plus an additional fence to restrict movement along the decking as you please. The perimeter is fence and screen. There is a lower fence in the hot tub area, I can provide additional fencing here by request.
Tallington Lakes is very friendly - many people here have dogs and we are all aware that they have their quirks.
If your dog is a non stop barker, or would be desperate to get in the lake, I woud advise that it probably isn't suitable.
The Hot Tub
The large hot tub is something special! Sitting right by the edge of the lake on its own patio, it is tucked away and private. Cleaned professionally between guests to meet HSG282 guidelines, you can be sure of a clean and safe experience. The patio also has a picnic table with sunshade and a couple of chairs. Its a cosy and private little spot! With the big open skies and very little light pollution, sit back and watch the stars.

Secure Private GardenĀ
We are very dog friendly - we can even dog sit free of charge. Dogs are allowed everywhere, but they particukarly love the enclosed grassed garden with fence and gate to 5ft. And you will love that it is screened, so it's private, just in case your dog likes to say hi to every passer by! There's a porch, and the garden is accessed directly from the lodge down 3 steps. There is a dog ramp for little or old legs, and a warm shower. Our fingers are not particular green but your dogs won’t mind! With leads to borrow, and collars with our phone number, we hope we've thought of everything!
You'll love the 40ft wraparound verandah and spacious suntrap decking, perfect for relaxing and watching the lake. The private jetty may be used for fishing, or launching of kayaks or SUPs. Numerous gates mean you can control where your furries are allowed to roam (dogs are not allowed in the lake)
Walking around the lake (dogs on leads rule due to wildlife) can take about an hour, but there’s a very dog friendly lakeside bar and restaurant to pop in to!
Within a short drive there are many fabulous off lead walks, details are in the lodge, but also do ask.
Enjoying the Lake

Where can I paddleboard and kayak?
So many people are asking the question ‘Where can I SUP in Lincolnshire?’ Well this is a fabulous place!
There are 2 options for paddle boarding at Tallington Lakes - you can book in at the sailing centre between April and September, or you can launch your own from our private jetty!
Please note that to launch from the jetty you will need your own 50N buoyancy aid and insurance, and there is a small daily fee per craft - ask me for more information. Dogs are not allowed to join you on the lake.
