Frequently Asked Questions

Is a holiday at Tallington Lakes the same as a holiday at Tattershall Lakes?

If you take a look at the satellite image (click on to enlarge) the first thing that you notice is that Tallington has much fewer lodges than Tattershall. Tallington Lakes is a leisure site, and the majority of people who live there are permanent residents.  Tattershall is a holiday park, with more densely situated lodges.

Tallington offers water and land activities, has a heated outdoor swimming pool, a children’s playground and a friendly lakeside bar. Offering two ski slopes, a challenging climbing wall, and an array of water activities from April to September, there are many opportunities for an active holiday if you fancy it! Having done a bit of research , I discovered that Tallington’s water activities are often half the price of centre parcs’!

Where exactly is the Lakeside Retreat at Tallington?

The position of our retreat at the top of the biggest lake, with only fields at the back, guarantees a peaceful stay. Yes you can stay in other lodges, but you won’t get our view! The home screen of our website shows how spectacular it can look at different times of day. It’s even impressive when it’s super windy as white tipped waves are created!

What makes it a great place to bring dogs?

We have 5 dogs, and we aim to bear that in mind when we welcome yours. So we don’t ask about size or breed - our littlest is a little monkey! You are the best people to know whether the lodge is suitable for your dogs.

We provide beds, bowls, spare leads, identity collars, towels, a warm outside shower - we even have crates if you want to borrow them! Dogs are allowed on the furniture in the living space, but we do ask that you bring your own throws and bedding please.  Dogs are allowed into the bedroom/bathrooms areas, but if they don’t at home, and you don’t want them to here, they will be  just fine, as it’s an all one level lodge and they will know where you are.

Outside, we have an enclosed grassed garden with fence and gate to 1m. I won’t say it’s escape proof if you have a digger or a jumper, and our fingers are not particular green but your dogs won’t mind!

There’s also a 40ft wraparound verandah and spacious suntrap decking, and jetty, all with gates so that you can control where your furries are allowed to roam.

Walking around the lake (dogs on leads rule due to wildlife) can take about an hour, but there’s a very dog friendly lakeside bar and restaurant to pop in to!

Within a short drive there are many fabulous off lead walks, details are in the lodge.

Where can I paddleboard?

So many people are asking the question ‘Where can I SUP in Lincolnshire?’ Well this is a fabulous place!

There are 2 options for paddle boarding at Tallington Lakes - you can book in at the sailing centre between April and September, or you can launch your own, anytime, from our private jetty! All you need is insurance and a 40n buoyancy aid.

Where can I charge my electric vehicle?

There is an electric vehicle charging point at Morrisons supermarket, a 15 minute drive away, also at Tesco, Market Deeping, which is around 10 minutes.
